How to Use Home Remedies to Treat Skin Rash

1. Cold compress

Dip a cloth in cold water and hold it against your skin for 25 to 30 minutes, this will soothe your skin and stop the itching and with time, the water will soften and remove dead skin that irritates. You can also wrap ice packs in a towel and hold them against your skin for about 20 minutes. The cold compress can treat your skin rash if it is done consistently.

2. Oatmeal bath

An oatmeal bath works like magic in treating skin rash. Follow these steps;

  • Fill your bathtub with warm water

  • Add 2 cups of unprocessed oatmeal

  • Stir vigorously into the warm water in the tub, stir until the oatmeal is incorporated into the water

  • Soak in the bath for 30 minutes until your skin feels better or you feel cold

  • Asides using the oatmeal for a bath, you can also apply it as in a paste on your body

  • Mix some amount of the flour with water until it forms a paste, apply it to the itchy area and leave for 20 to 30 minutes. This will relieve the itchiness and improve your skin condition

3. Use Aloe vera

Aloe vera contains properties that fight against bacteria and inflammation. It also contains vitamin E that treat burns and itches. You can buy aloe vera gel from beauty stores but having an Aloe Vera plant is ideal. You can extract the original and unprocessed gel from your aloe Vera plant. Apply the gel to the affected area of the skin and leave for some minutes

4. Tea tree oil

Tea tree oil can help to reduce itchiness and treat skin rash. Apply lavishly on the affected area. Do not apply vigorously, go gentle on your skin in a circular motion

5. Cooling agents

Buy special products that can relieve and soothe skin rash. You can get a lotion that contains calamine or menthol, these products are effective and can help to relieve itching overtime

  • Avoid scratching

Do not scratch your skin at all, while you may be tempted to scratch for some relief, it worsens the condition. If you find it difficult to get your hands off your skin, pat or tap instead of scratching

  • Try to sleep at least 8 hours per day to stay refreshed. When you sleep, your skin cells can repair itself

  • Tight clothes made of cotton and synthetic material can cause itchiness, wear clothes made of cotton that are a little loose to avoid skin irritation
